  • Early Life and Parental Inspiration
    Born in Colon Panama, Edilsa is a first generation immigrant a product of two hard working parents that encouraged her to explore a career in the sciences. It is through the daily observation of her mother who never attended college, but could do mathematical computations with ease. And a father that never finished high school but still skillfully armed with innate talents in construction, that Edilsa identified a desire to pursue an Engineering career.
  • Early Clarity & Mission
    At an early age, Edilsa decided she loved all aspects of science including discovery, research, computing, mathematics and analytics. Her exposure to programs such as NSBE and INROADS opened the doors of exploration for a young aspiring kid looking to branch into a career that wasn't the chosen path for many that looked like her.
  • The University of Maryland and China!
    Edilsa holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Maryland. She earned her Master of Business Administration in Management of Technology from The Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Certificate in Global Leadership from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
  • Leadership Experience
    Edilsa has held sales and leadership positions throughout her career, with Cisco, Cox Enterprises, Ernst & Young LLP and most recent Palo Alto Networks. It is from her engagements spanning the Public Sector vertical at Cisco that Edilsa began to study and understand the business of Education; reigniting her childhood dreams of helping students with technology, ensuring they are exposed to careers in Information Technology, Engineering, and Sales, and has a passion for making the entry into tech fields more widely available for women and girls.
  • A Journey to National Education
    Edilsa has always had a passion for education, after all it is what laid the foundation of her achieving her dreams of leading in the technology space, the exposure throughout her career and beyond allowed Edilsa to also see the gaps in the industry. With her power to influence Edilsa's has developed a personal mission to lead outstanding teams, while increasing the footprint of more women in tech. Edilsa has also been able to develop large scale strategies for technical sales in the Education vertical a skill in her role as the leader of the National Educations sales Engineering Leader for Palo Alto Networks. With responsibilities for a book of business worth more than $300M, Edilsa guides her team in the development of strategies and sustainable business practices for Colleges, Universities and K-12 school districts. Ultimately, Edilsa's mission driven approach has impacted not only the women and girls she's mentored but the lives of millions of students that benefit from the best cybersecurity company in the world.
  • Family + Volunteerism + The Arts
    In her personal time, Edilsa's loves are mentoring and tutoring of elementary school aged children to increase literacy within disenfranchised communities (Tutormate), volunteering at local Atlanta food distribution centers, traveling, reading, exploring the arts and theatre, enjoying time with friends and watching her kids play basketball and baseball.
